Welcome to Paralax Life !

Your access to and use of Paralax Life is based on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. These Terms apply to all visitors, users and others who access or use the Service. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms then you may not access the Service.

DRM in Opensimulator

You acknowledge the use of Digital Rights Management in Opensimulator that grants certain content licenses to other users through the permissions system. This may include the copy, modify, and transfer settings for indicating how other users may use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, or perform your Content subject to choices you make. You agree to respect, follow and allow the DRM rights of others that use this system.

You acknowledge that content creators maintain their rights to their content. You accept full responsibility for use of provided content and remain liable for unlawful usage.

DMCA Notices

If a content provider reports a DMCA violation to Paralax Life, it will be investigated and if warranted, removed from public access.

Offending accounts may be banned from use of the services.

Copyrights

You agree that you will not copy, transfer, or distribute outside of  Paralax Life any content in whole or in part or in modified or unmodified form, that infringes or violates any Intellectual Property Rights of Paralax Life , other Content Providers, or any third parties.

Age

You certify that by clicking ACCEPT that you are over 18 years of age.

Land Allocation and Sub-Licensing

  1. Non-Transferability of Free Land: All virtual land provided by Paralax Life to the User free of charge is intended for the User's personal use only. The User is granted a limited, non-transferable, and revocable license to occupy and use such land within the environment of Paralax Life.

  2. Prohibition of Sale or Sub-Leasing: The User is strictly prohibited from selling, renting, leasing, sub-licensing, or otherwise transferring any portion of the free land, or any rights associated therewith, to any third party. This includes, but is not limited to, the exchange of such land for virtual currency (e.g., Gloebit, OMC), real-world currency, or other goods and services.

  3. Exceptions and Authorization: Any exception to the aforementioned prohibition requires the prior, express, and written consent of Paralax Life administration. Unauthorized attempts to monetize or transfer free land may result in the immediate reclamation of the land, deletion of associated content, and/or termination of the User's account without prior notice.

  4. Reclamation: Paralax Life reserves the right to reclaim any land provided for free if it remains inactive for an extended period or if the User violates any terms set forth in this agreement.

Gloebit Currency and Transaction Restrictions

  1. Authorized Use of Gloebits (G$): The use of Gloebit currency within Paralax Life is strictly limited to the following authorized purposes:

    • Gratuities and Tips: Users may use G$ to provide tips to performers, DJs, hosts, or other staff during events.

    • Skill-Based Gaming: Transactions involving G$ are permitted exclusively within the designated skill-gaming region named "Lucky Gamez".

  2. Prohibition of Content Trading: The sale or purchase of any virtual content (including but not limited to objects, textures, scripts, clothing, or animations) for a price exceeding zero Gloebits (0 G$) is strictly prohibited on all other regions of Paralax Life. All user-to-user content transfers must be set to "0 G$" or "Free."

  3. Unauthorized Commercial Activity: Any attempt to sell products, services, or land for Gloebits outside the scope defined in Section 1 is a violation of these Terms of Service. This includes "pay-to-access" areas or private commercial stores.

  4. Enforcement: Paralax Life reserves the right to monitor transaction logs for compliance. Unauthorized commercial activity may lead to the immediate removal of the offending objects, the closure of the region involved, or the permanent suspension of the User's account. Paralax Life is not responsible for any loss of virtual currency resulting from transactions that violate these terms.

Activity Requirements and Simulator Reclamation

  1. Mandatory Login Requirement: Users who have been granted a free simulator or region by Paralax Life are required to log into the grid at least once every thirty (30) calendar days.

  2. Automatic Reclamation: Failure to meet the mandatory login requirement as defined in Section 5 will be considered an abandonment of the allocated land. In such events, Paralax Life reserves the right to automatically reclaim the simulator, which may include the permanent deletion of all associated content and assets without further notice or liability for data loss.

Land Allocation Limits and Identity Verification

  1. One Simulator Per Person: Each individual person is entitled to a maximum of one (1) free simulator provided by Paralax Life. This limit applies to the actual person, regardless of the number of accounts (avatars) created.

  2. Prohibition of Multiple Free Regions: Obtaining or attempting to obtain multiple free regions by creating multiple accounts ("Alts") is strictly prohibited and constitutes a material breach of these Terms of Service.

  3. Identity Verification (Proof of Identity): In cases where the Paralax Life administration suspects a violation of the "One Simulator Per Person" rule, Paralax Life reserves the right to request proof of identity. This verification process requires the User to provide:

    • A high-quality copy or photo of a government-issued ID (Identity Card or Passport).

    • A "selfie" photograph of the User holding said ID next to their face for comparison. Paralax Life guarantees that this data will be used solely for the purpose of one-time verification and will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.

  4. Additional Simulators: Users wishing to operate more than one simulator may do so by renting additional regions. Each additional simulator is subject to a monthly fee of 6.99€. Failure to pay the rental fee for additional regions may result in the immediate reclamation of the respective simulator.

  5. Sanctions for Deception: If a User is found to have bypassed the land limits through deceptive practices, Paralax Life reserves the right to reclaim all associated land and permanently ban all accounts linked to that individual.

Reporting Misconduct and Violations

  1. Reporting Procedure: Paralax Life is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment. If you believe you are being mistreated by another user or if you witness a violation of these Terms of Service, please report the incident immediately to our support team at [emailadresse].

  2. Investigation: We take all reports seriously and will investigate the matter as quickly as possible to determine the appropriate course of action.

The Golden Rule (Community Manners)

  1. Be Awesome: Last but not least: Be nice to each other and please don't break the furniture! We are all here to have a good time, so let's keep the grid vibes positive and the virtual interior intact.

Data Rights

You grant Paralax Life permission to process your data to maintain your account. This includes:

  • Registration information you provide when you create an account such as:
    • Your Email address
    • Your Avatar Name
    • Your IP address
  • Information necessary to connect to your PC such as session ID's and web cookies
  • Any other personal information you give us to service your account.
  • Transaction information you provide when you request information or purchase a product or service from us, whether on our sites or through our applications.

Hyperlinks

Paralax Life may contain links or hyperlinks to third-party services that are not owned or controlled by Paralax Life. Hyperlinks are destinations that you may travel to. Hyperlinks connect to third parties and they will have access to limited data. They will need this info to provide Hypergrid service, and may not follow the GDPR act, but may use this information by means outside of our control.

You agree that your Avatar Name, Session ID, IP address and other technical information can be sent to other opensim grids when you travel the hypergrid. Paralax Life has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that Paralax Life may contain links to third-party services that are not owned or controlled by Paralax Life .

Liability

Paralax Life shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such web sites or services.

Right to be forgotten

You have the right to request erasure of personal identifying information, or to the deletion of your account. Paralax Life may retain certain records that Paralax Life is required to retain by law.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, without limitation if you breach the Terms.

All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability This Agreement may be modified for any reason, without prior notice (unless prior notice is required by law), by posting the revised Agreement here. If at any time you do not agree to those terms and conditions, you must immediately cease your use of the system.

Agreement

You specifically give Paralax Life permission to collect and use your data as indicated in this Policy and you agree to be bound by this Terms of Service.
